ProZorro.sale wins “The Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge” anti-corruption award

ProZorro.sale received “The Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge” anti-corruption award from C5 Accelerate and USA Institute of Peace. It is a worldwide recognition as the best anti-corruption startup in public administration. The award is annually given to projects with considerable anti-corruption effect that can become a sample for other cases.

The Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge is a global competition of anti-corruption projects. Amazon Web Services, PeaceTech Lab and SAP NS2 are some of the competition partners. The competition corresponds to the objective of the UN concerning promotion of fair, peaceful and inclusive communities. This objective is aimed at rendering institutions and governments responsible and transparent. Also its scope is rooting out bribery and other forms of political and corporate corruption. Within the Shield in the Cloud competitions the most innovative startups, corporations and governments, working in the sphere of technology for following anti-corruption standards all over the world, are chosen.

Only within a year ProZorro.sale managed to fundamentally change the sphere of state procurement in Ukraine. Building on the successful experience of launching electronic public procurement system, the project team in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Deposit Guarantee Fund, the National Bank of Ukraine and “Transparency International Ukraine” has launched a pilot project of insolvent bank property.

The first open auction was held in October, 2016. Since February 1, 2017 all assets of insolvent banks have been sold via ProZorro.sale.

Currently not only claim rights of insolvent banks are sold at transparent auctions, but also assets of state and public enterprises, even rights to lease. Moreover, small-scale privatisation tenders are going to be conducted via ProZorro.sale since this year.

The success of ProZorro.sale projects proves that transparency and equal access with fair rules allow to efficiently reform even the most complicated sphere.
